A blog post from Ellen Strickland, Community Programme Director at InternetNZ
3 June 2016
Over the past few months we've been busy planning NetHui 2016 - and it's going to look a little different this year...
You may recall from my blog post earlier this year, that for 2016 we would like more of the community to join the discussions and activities. So we are taking NetHui on the road!
We will have three one-day events happening in three different locations across the country. We're finalising details at the moment and in the next month aim to announce the three locations and dates. We are looking at dates in October for these events but all will be revealed soon.
This wont be the end of the traditional three-day NetHui national event. We are planning on having the more 'classic' three-day event structure for NetHui 2017.
You may have also heard talk of some NetHui sessions at ITx 2016 which is taking place in July in Wellington. As part of ITx we'll be holding some sessions that will have that NetHui flavour. The NetHui style is much loved by the community and bringing it to other events gives us a chance to get other people from the tech sector involved. There will also a NetHui session at this years Open Source Open Society conference in August. More information about this will be coming soon.
So keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of NetHui 2016. We hope you'll be able to make it along to at least one of the three events. And perhaps see some of you at the NetHui sessions at ITx and Open Source Open Society before then!
If you have any questions, please send these to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you asap.
