Welcome to the November issue of dotNews.
This month we recap NetHui 2017, introduce a new online identity resource for anyone affected by the closure of a Vodafone email address, and do a regional and International round-up of stories and events that have importance to our community.
NetHui 2017 Round up
NetHui is a yearly event where the community comes together to talk about the challenges and opportunities the internet brings to us all - personally and professionally. The theme for NetHui 2017 was Trust and Freedom on the Internet. Hon Clare Curran addressed NetHui with her first speech as the new minister responsible for portfolios that cover our areas of work.
You can view the recorded sessions from NetHui 2017 here:
During the discussions some valuable and exciting points were raised that were not able to be fully developed in the time available. It would be great if we were able to set up some special interest groups to progress these further, but we need your help. Find out more here.
Your email is your personal identity, so choose it carefully
Vodafone has announced it's shutting down its email service, closing all accounts on 30 November 2017. We're excited to provide a new resource to help anyone affected by these changes, or considering their email options and online identity, to choose between subscribing to a free email service like gmail or outlook or creating an online identity through the adoption of a personalised domain.
