This week is Connect Smart Week. It should be the turning point for a lot of people in getting smarter online.
As a partner in Connect Smart Week, InternetNZ is a strong advocate for educating people how they can be safer and more secure when using the Internet.
InternetNZ’s Work Programme Director Andrew Cushen said that InternetNZ is very proud to be a part of such an important week.
“The tools that Connect Smart is providing to Kiwis are wonderful. You can get online and find out what digital clan you are a member of and what tools you can use to help you thrive in the online world.
“On the website there are tips for home users, businesses and schools so that we can all get on using the Internet to its full potential without stressing too much about how safe we are, said Mr Cushen.
“In the real world there are discussion sessions happening all round the country. And Vodafone is releasing a SME business toolkit.”
Andrew is keen that people are aware that cybersecurity isn’t something that we should just think about this week, but rather we should be vigilant all year round.
“We partner up with some wonderful organisations such as NetSafe, and through them we work hard to provide Kiwis with a safe, productive online experience. By doing so, we are aiming for a better world through a better Internet.”
People should jump online to connectsmart.govt.nz and find out how they can be safer online.
