New Zealand’s favourite Internet gathering, NetHui will hit the road and its first stop is Palmerston North on 5 October 2018.
NetHui brings people together to discuss the future of the Internet and the challenges and opportunities the Internet brings to us all. InternetNZ has helped to bring NetHui to New Zealanders interested in the future of the Internet since 2011.
As the ‘capital’ of the central North Island, Palmerston North is ideally located, serving nearly 250,000 people.
It’s home to four tertiary institutions and has a vibrant business and social community.
Of course, the internet is essential to the city’s future – particularly as it aims to be an innovative and inclusive city that offers active digital participation for all citizens.
Key priorities for the city include how the internet can help to create smart cities, digital transformation in the public sector, digital inclusion (including literacy), digital citizenship, and innovation.
