The call for a national coordination centre of the response to cybersecurity incidents (CSIRT) has been ongoing for a number of years.
At present the National Cyber Policy Office (NCPO) is evaluating a number of options to provide New Zealand's need for this function. They are considering among other things where such a function may sit and what role government and private industry may have in this function.
InternetNZ wants to ensure that the widest range of options is considered. To that end, InternetNZ has engaged an industry expert in the area of National CSIRT creation to produce a report to highlight all the options. This report will be delivered to NCPO for their consideration as well as being made available to the wider community.
