NetHui 2015 fellowships launched

InternetNZ is proud to announce that applications are now open for fellowships to attend NetHui 2015 at Sky City, Auckland, July 8-10.

NetHui fellowships offer financial help for travel, accommodation, registration and other direct costs for people living in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. We believe it’s important that people who want to come to NetHui, have the opportunity to.

For the first time, there is a budget of up to $15,000 to help people living in the Pacific Islands attend one of the biggest Internet events in the region.

There is a further budget of up to $10,000 to help people living in New Zealand to attend NetHui 2015.

Applications open today and close on 18 June. All fellowship applicants will be notified of outcomes during the week of 22 June.

About NetHui

NetHui isn’t a conference. It isn’t a barcamp. It isn’t about spending days being spoken at.

NetHui is a conversation.

Every year, the event brings together anyone and everyone interested in the Internet and its part in our society.

It takes many different forms. There are talks in the forms of keynotes and panels, and plenary sessions. The heart of the event are the hour-long discussions which run throughout the event, on topics and issues put forward by the NetHui community.

There are also side events in the evenings, where people can unwind and have some fun.

Everyone’s opinions and ideas are equally valued at NetHui. It’s open to all people regardless of age, background, gender or ethnicity. A respectful, open attitude towards others is expected from all participants, speakers, exhibitors and volunteers. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in your removal from the event.
