Internet Use Portfolio

The Internet Use Portfolio of the Issues Programme encompasses InternetNZ's activity to encourage and drive uptake and usage of the Internet in New Zealand homes, businesses and communities.

The lead staff on Internet Use is Ben Creet - ben@internetnz.nz

We will work with a number of other organisations in developing a shared methodology for coordinating Digital Inclusion projects, enabling us to aggregate our impact and better target our interventions.

We will work with NZRS on understanding and driving SME uptake, enhancing the current Digital Journey tool, and look to coordinate this with initiatives by relevant government agencies.

These are the Strategic Transformations that we have committed to in the InternetNZ Strategic Plan 2015-2018.

We will work with NetSafe to develop a new programme, understanding ‘Digital Challenges’, including cybercrime and safety issues and the role of law enforcement.

We will engage in the debate on Online Voting; noting the work done already by the Department of Internal Affairs and a proposed trial for Local Government elections, and with reference to any view
