About the role
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Communications Advisor to join the team and contribute to achieving our mission. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on storytelling, content creation, and driving impactful communications projects. You’ll work on everything from tactical planning to creating and monitoring social media campaigns, all while ensuring a Tiriti-centric approach. Collaborating with the Communications Manager and wider team, you’ll deliver high-quality content that resonates with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Work with the Communications team to implement communications strategy and support day-to-day activities
- Develop communication plans and content that aligns with their strategy and brand
- Advise, plan and update existing communications plans & follow branding guidelines
- Draft, proofread, and ensure copy is clear, engaging, and accessible
- Manage website edits and social media, creating campaigns to boost awareness and engagement
- Work across various platforms, including newsletters, EDMs, and social media, to reach target audiences
- Provide monitoring and analytics to track performance on digital platforms
- Champion diversity, inclusion, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all work
- Collaborate with teams across the organisation to support broader goals
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, or relevant experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for storytelling across platforms
- Proven experience managing social media and digital platforms, creating engaging content
- Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) knowledge is a plus but not a requirement
- Knowledge of tikanga and te ao Māori including Te Tiriti principles
- Confidence, maturity, and strategic thinking with a problem-solving approach
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
