2026 Board elections
Our organisation stewards the .nz domain name space and advocates for an open, secure Internet that benefits all New Zealanders. The Board sets InternetNZ's strategic direction and provides oversight of its work.
Our Board is made up of seven elected members and two appointed members. This ensures that the organisation has the diverse skillsets required for good governance.
Each year, we hold elections to fill available board member positions. The results of these elections are announced at our Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Visit our Board elections page for the 2026 Board Candidate Information Pack, which contains information on eligibility, role expectations, governance responsibilities, and time commitments.
Nominations
There are two elected Board positions available, with both successful candidates serving a three-year term through to the 2029 AGM.
The Board of InternetNZ announced that nominations opened for the 2026 Board elections on 11 June 2026. Nominations close at 5pm on Thursday, 16 July 2026. Eligible Members can nominate themselves or another Eligible Member as candidates for the Board positions using the nomination form.
For more on the general nominations process, refer to the Board elections page.
During the nomination period, we will add names as they are put forward. Information about each candidate will be added once the nomination period closes.
'Nomination pending': Indicates that a nomination has been received and is being processed by the Returning Officer. During this period, the Returning Officer is completing the required eligibility and nomination checks and awaiting the submission of the candidate’s required materials (such as their photograph, written responses, and candidate video). Candidate information will remain in “pending” status until these steps have been completed. All confirmed candidate information will be published simultaneously once all required materials have been received.
