Growing breadth of capability for InternetNZ Board
InternetNZ Board Chair Stephen Judd •
Kia ora koutou and greetings
Over recent months the InternetNZ Board have been working with the Institute of Directors board recruitment team through a comprehensive process in line with our constitution, to find suitably experienced candidates for our two appointed Board roles.
There was great interest in these roles and the calibre of candidates we took to the interview stage was high.
It is with great pleasure that I welcome Dr Darryn Russell and Dr Keri Milne-Ihimaera to the Board, who will commence their roles from 13 August 2026 immediately following the AGM.
Our Board will benefit from the breadth of capability that these two individuals will bring. Darryn and Keri both have many years of governance and strategic advisory roles, with experience in embedding strategy and performance frameworks, overseeing the management of large-scale critical assets, and driving both commercial and social good outcomes for organisations. They also bring extensive involvement in Māori development, investment, finance and not-for-profit sectors. So it is no surprise that endorsement of these two candidates by the board was unanimous.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Anthony Bow and Whetū Fala, our two outgoing appointed board members for their exceptional service. They have contributed greatly to our audit and risk work, to the sustainability of our community funding and to our work with and understanding of te ao Māori. Their insight, support and counsel has been invaluable to me, the board and before that our council over multiple terms.
I hope you will join me in formally welcoming our new appointed Board members and farewelling our outgoing ones at the upcoming AGM on 13 August.
In the meantime, if you’d like to read more about Darryn and Keri.
