Engaging with Kiwis on what they want or expect from .nz domain names policies is underway! The .nz survey went out for public feedback on 18 September. We’ve had strong and interesting feedback but we’d like more before it closes on 14 October. Fill out the survey and be in to win a $500 prezzy card.
The .nz Advisory Panel presented at NetHui earlier in the month – again to get input into the review. The diversity of opinions was greatly appreciated and reflected the challenge the panel faces. Thanks to everyone who attended (registrars, registrants, the business sector and international experts amongst others) and shared their perspectives.
This month the panel also worked through the policy issues as presented by the InternetNZ team. Three strategic pillars have been developed – security, openness and access. Engagement and feedback on where Kiwis sit on these themes (and others raised) will be significant in the policy review.
We also heard about the commercial work at InternetNZ and the challenges in meeting the existing policy rules.
We’re looking forward to further feedback on what should and shouldn’t be contained in.nz policies so we can bring our best thinking to the review. Please keep the feedback coming.
