Mapping the future of NetHui
NetHui 2025 update
NetHui is taking a different shape in 2025. The goal for NetHui has always been to bring people together to enhance, foster, strengthen and contribute to the future of the Internet. The goal remains the same, but the way we seek to achieve this in 2025 will be a series of smaller, more targeted events later in the year to gain a stronger sense of what our community wants and needs.
Last year the decision was made to postpone NetHui after feedback from our community that times were tough for additional expenditure. A tough call to make, but we knew that the next course of action would be engaging with our community about what we can all do to help make this event fly again in the future.
So, we’re taking it back to the grass roots and wanting to connect more closely with our community and your interests. We feel that smaller events enable deeper conversations from across Aotearoa, and any future national Nethui, like what we had originally planned for Wellington, will grow from what we learn in the regions.
We'd love to meet with you
We want to meet you where you are. Whether it’s a community hall in rural Southland or an events centre in central Auckland, we want to show up where our community is. So, let us know where you think we could have the best conversations, share the best ideas, and hear from the people we want to hear from – you. Email us at events@internetnz.net.nz.
More information is on the way
We’re grateful for feedback and ideas from our members, followers, and friends, and encourage you to keep sharing what you would like to see at NetHui and the events we’re planning for the second half of this year. We’ll keep you up-to-date with developments here on our website, as well as bringing you information in dotNews, our members emails, and on Facebook and LinkedIn.
