Update of registrar agreements
What is changing
In November 2025, InternetNZ and the Domain Name Commission (DNC) announced a rollout of their respective updated registrar agreements. This is the first review of the Authorisation Agreement since 2018, and the Connection Agreement was last reviewed in 2022.
With the latest update, InternetNZ and DNC are implementing a number of changes to each agreement to:
-
provide greater consistency across the .nz Rules and the new agreements;
-
provide greater clarity for .nz registrars regarding their obligations; and
-
improve the readability of the agreements.
More information is available in the summaries of changes to each agreement.
