Registry Replacement project

InternetNZ is considering options for a new replacement registry system and has conducted a request for expressions of interest (REOI) to enable InternetNZ to understand and evaluate what a suitable replacement for our existing SRS registry system could look like.

REOI outcome

InternetNZ has received a large number of EOI responses of very high quality and calibre.

After a thorough evaluation of all responses, InternetNZ has decided to invite three organisations to progress to closed tender for the new .nz registry system.

Request for proposal

The next step for the registry replacement project will be the issuing of a request for proposal (RFP) along with associated technical documents. These will be consistent with the EOI but provide a clearer and more detailed specification of the services we wish to procure.

We expect the RFP to be issued in May 2020.

While we are still finalising the detailed requirements for the operating model, we currently envision the registry service running on infrastructure in New Zealand.
