DNCL directors appointed

I am pleased to announce two new independent directors for the Domain Name Commission board for a three-year term: Mel Hewitson and Anita Killeen. They are joined by me as the chair of the board.
The board governs the Commission as a key part of the InternetNZ group. Its role includes interpreting policies, ensuring compliance within the .nz policy framework, dispute resolution and supporting the Domain Name Commissioner, Brent Carey. The new directors have a great background and skills to help us regulating .nz domain namespace.
Mel Hewitson is an advocate of customer interests with an extensive background in financial services, risk and regulation, and parallel governance experience in the philanthropic and social impact sectors.
Anita Killeen is a Barrister specialising in financial crime and fraud, civil and criminal litigation, governance and decision-making. Ms Killeen holds governance roles in the legal, financial, local government, education, health and NFP sectors.
I look forward to working with both Mel and Anita and the whole Domain Name Commission team to make .nz safe and fair for everyone.
